It was a gloomy day so I had to use a longer exposure. Those horses were standing very still, but not perfectly still. You can still see them moving a bit. A lot of photographers chide me for presenting a picture like this to the public. “You call yourself a photographer? The horses have motion blur!?” To them I say, “I’m not a photographer, I’m a painter. This is how a painter takes a picture.” In other words, I like that the horses are moving a bit. It reminds the viewer that they are living creatures. I used a vintage 210mm Soligar zoom lens which works well with my 1.5 crop.
